This week for the forty-fifth recipe I've made for Thirty Minute Thursdays, cooking our way through Giuliano Hazan's Thirty Minute Pasta book, I made Fusilli alla Salsiccia e Ricotta (Fusilli with Sausage, Ricotta, and Fresh Tomatoes) on page 165.
The ingredient list: onion, butter, sausage, tomatoes, salt, pepper, basil leaves, ricotta, Parmigiano Reggiano, and fusilli.
This recipe is full of vibrant taste and texture, the sausage gives it pizazz. It is a bit heavier than most of the recipes in this book because the sausage adds a dense weight to it all. The ricotta adds a creamy texture as it melts into the tomato mixture and it seems very rich and wonderful. With a salad to lighten it up, this was a very good meal. Mark loves sausages so this is a way to make a little go a long way and yet feel like you've had a nice quantity of meat for dinner. He would really like it if I made this one regularly, and I just might, it was delicious.
