READING: I have always loved Jane Austen's books, love getting lost in them, reading them over and over, so I when I found the books by this author, I checked them out with a bit of skepticism for what they were...that said, I find that I am loving them, and have curled up several nights just getting lost in the Austen-esque world she creates. Fun for a change of pace from my usual onslaught of history books.
SWIMMING NEWS: IU swimmers are busy training for various meets and running the swim camps that IU sponsors each summer. Matt is having a good time, enjoying teaching the young swimmers, and having a great summer of swimming, swimming, and more swimming. Life is good.
COOKING BYTES: My re-commitment to getting my group blogging up to speed sort of fell by the wayside. Oops...been busy doing other things. Maybe this week...
FAV NEW FIND: I am growing some lettuce in pots on the deck this summer as a sort of trial...so far so good and I am hoping to have lettuce to eat by the end of the week...it is so pretty growing like that, love the extra greenery around the deck.
FAV THIS PAST WEEK: Getting to see Matt on Saturday, Mark and I went down and spent the day just hanging out and taking Matt some homemade food as cooking is not his thing...nor does he have a lot of time to learn with two swim practices a day and working at the swim camp between the two.
Matt, Ian, and Steve were gifted 500 Race tickets by Ian's parents and had a blast...Matt and Steve's first time there, Ian a regular. Below, a photo of the Three Amigos at the 500: Matt, Ian, and Steve. Life is more than swimming. I think.
WEEK IN REVIEW: Spent the first week of summer vacation just doing little bits of this and that, reading, swimming, and catching up with friends. I probably should get more serious about being more productive this coming week as the summer will fly by and it will be back to school in a flash. I will say, it was a lovely week. Mark's been busy painting a couple of bathrooms around here and fixing a few things that needed a little adjusting...trying to get things spiffed up and downsized this year in anticipation of moving next year, so the summer will be a little of this and a little of that.
LOOKING FORWARD TO: At the President Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site: Indiana's Favorite Sons (until November), read about it here.
