Thanks to Anne, from Anne Strawberry, for her pick of Classic Brownies, found on page 88 of Dorie Greenspan's Baking from My Home to Yours cookbook. Click here for the recipe. Brownies are always appreciated by the guys, Anne, so thanks for this week's pick.
The brownies could not be easier, melt the two chocolates and butter in a bowl, add the rest of the ingredients, pour into a pan, bake, and cool. Seriously easy, I did it all in my 4-cup Pyrex measuring cup with a whisk.
While these have nuts in them, apparently the opinion is that chocolate and nuts mix well together and guys here will eat them, if no chocolate is involved, do not put nuts in things. I made a full batch as I'm sure Mark will have no trouble packing these in lunches and snacking on these in the evenings. I believe his comment was, "Great, now that Matt is gone, I might actually get more than one!" Could definitely be a repeat. (Matt: if you are reading this, we love you and miss you, Dad would give up all the brownies anytime you want them!)
