Thanks to Lynne, from Cafe LynnyLu, for her pick of Cream Scones, found on page 27 of Dorie Greenspan's Baking from My Home to Yours cookbook. Click here for the recipe. These were wonderful, Lynne, thanks for a lovely pick, melt-in-your-mouth goodness!
Scones could not be easier...I'm just saying...you throw a few ingredients together, pat it in a circle, place it on a baking sheet, bake it for about 20 minutes, and you have nice hot scones fresh from the oven to enjoy for breakfast, about half an hour start to finish with very little clean-up.
It's a big plus that they taste so good, they were nice and moist inside with a tender crumb, absolutely delicious. These have currants in them, some others had chocolate chips in them, both equally scarfed down with the "mmmm" accompaniments.
Blackberry Jam and Currants go amazingly well together, especially if their friend A Little Bit of Butter drops by. Definitely a repeat and soon.
