The seventh recipe I made from the Sweet Tarts & Pies section (the 65th recipe overall in this book) of The Modern Baker by Nick Malgieri, was the one for Banana Walnut (Pecan) Tart, on page 171. (We are not publishing recipes from the book, so if you like what you see, buy the book and bake along with or without us).
Originally I wasn't all that excited about this recipe as we aren't all that fond of bananas IN things, but Phyl raved about it and he's usually right about this sort of thing, i.e. baking recipes, so I gave it a go and we were all pleasantly surprised at just how good this little tart tasted. We didn't even put whipped cream on it...a sure sign that something can stand all on its own. Definitely a repeat.
