The photo says it all, a simple dish with one generous scoop of perfect vanilla ice cream on a hot summer's day. I added the lemon sprinkles just because I felt like lemon sprinkles, but I am generally the person who goes to the ice cream parlors with their multitudes of flavors and orders one scoop of vanilla, sometimes I branch out and order French Vanilla. No sauce, no sprinkles, no add-ins...just plain vanilla ice cream. My favorite. What can I say about the recipe this week? It's ice cream. Vanilla ice cream. Very good vanilla ice cream, but still it's vanilla ice cream, so there is not a lot of elaborating on that. Buy, the book, follow the recipe, and you will have one very excellent batch of vanilla ice cream, fit for any gathering, any time, any place. Definitely a "go to" recipe. Next week's recipe was chosen by Mary of This week's Tuesdays with Dorie recipe, from the cookbook Baking From My Home to Yours by Dorie Greenspan is Vanilla Ice Cream, is found on pages 428-429, and was chosen by Lynne of Cafe LynnyLu.
