READING:
Last week I received quite a few suggestions for novel reading, so I am gathering those and going in on those next week while we have a lot of swim meet time and I can read! In the meantime, now, I am finishing up odds and ends and some magazine articles I have put aside to read.
PHOTOS: Swimming Lessons with Matt (1) Dominic (2) Jacinta (3) Luke (4) Monica...all having a great time learning to swim! So cute!
LISTENING TO: Billy Joel and Elton John...how large are those concerts??!
COOKING THROUGH: Le Cordon Bleu at Home (Le Cordon Bleu School of Cooking), this week's assignment is Velouté Du Barry (Cream of Cauliflower Soup), pages 419-420; Baking: From My Home to Yours (Dorie Greenspan), this week's recipe is Blanc Manger on pages 398-399; The Bread Baker's Apprentice (Peter Reinhart), this week's recipe is Challah on pages 133-134; The Essentials of Classic Italian Cooking(Marcella Hazan), this week's recipe is La Florentine Grilled T-Bone on page 385. You can cook/bake along, too!
FAV NEW FIND: Matt's rankings in the Psych Sheets for upcoming Sectional Meet...pretty good for a 16 year old, yep, pretty good! Actually, they are pretty good no matter the age since he swims Open (15 and older) these days.
FAV THING TODAY:
Okay, yesterday...dinner at the Hamilton County Fair...a charcoal grilled ribeye sandwich and a lemon shakeup! I get one every single year...it's a tradition for the past 30 years.
GOING TO: Celebrate birthdays...Mark's Dad's was yesterday, Mark's is Sunday, and Matt's is the 31st, so we will head up to Elwood and celebrate with the three of them together. The fair is going on, so we will be in and out of there looking at various projects our kid and our friends' kids have entered. Getting Matt ready for sending off to the Sectional Meet on Sunday morning.
PRAYING FOR: Safe travel...a lot of people vacationing and going various places...please join me.
