Well, the kid finished 16th, and managed to drop some more time, as he swam 0.05 seconds faster this evening, for a new best time of 1:01.63. Anytime we get a drop, we celebrate!
Nick A. and JJ were also in this heat, so that was fun watching the three of them together. They all did a great job and scored points for the team.
Matt is now only a second away from a Junior National time, which is very exciting. When one gets that close to a fancy cut like a Junior National, one is rewarded with coveted new swimwear...so between the meet and checking in with choir rehearsal, we had a quick run by the swimwear store which netted one very fancy body suit "profast" something or other. Here are some photos of said swimmer in said new togs getting said new best time in the 100 Backstroke today. The final photo is one of Matt and JJ chatting about the swim with Carly. We have a very happy swimmer this evening. One swim to go, tomorrow: the 100 Freestyle. Guess we will see if the new fast body suit will aid in scoring a drop!
