Last night was the Guerin Winter Sports Banquet. The coaches called their athletes to the front and gave them awards while they spoke a little about them. 
Roch related our wonder swim year, put together at the last moment on a wing and a prayer. Be that as it may, they were quite successful and Matt got several honors, including a state award, his numerals and his letter for a Guerin letter jacket...he was very surprised at getting both as freshmen usually get the numerals and then the letter the following year. Since Matt went to state, they decided he would be awarded both this year. He also made All County honorable mention in the press for Hamilton County, which was a nice deal for him.
Roch's talk was entertaining and informative about all that Matt managed to accomplish this year, and it meant a lot to all of us. Afterward people were coming up right and left to chat with Matt about it all...people we didn't even know were amazingly interested in all of this. (The first photo is during the presentation and the second photo is of Coach and Matt holding up the certificates, etc.) What a great evening.
