We just got back from the pumpkin patch and farm stands, so I am a very happy camper as I loved having the day going about with Matt and enough time that we could just head out and roam where the spirit moved us...this also happened to be productive in that we ran a lot of errands, visited with friends, went to the farmstands and pumpkin patches, and Matt got to drive the whole time to practice on various roads, etc.
I'm probably the last to know about these...but isn't this CUTE? It's called an Apple Gourd (at least that is what the sign said at the pumpkin patch) and apparently they dry to the buff color of what you think of as a "gourd color." After they dry you can paint them red or green or yellow to resemble an apple and use them in fall decorating. I thought it was cute and it is now part of the centerpiece at the kitchen table. You all knew about these already, right? Oh, well, I was just delighted to come upon them today...it doesn't take much to absolutely thrill me, does it?
Alex is packing up and heading out for a scout campout this weekend...forecast is rain, so we are crossing our fingers and hoping that someone might have gotten it wrong this time. (Hope it holds off long enough so the Guerin football team can play dry this evening.) A beautiful, gorgeous day, just wonderful all around!
