Yesterday Matt and I met Colin and his mom, Aimee, at the Logo shop to purchase all the uniform apparel required for Guerin this year. It was a lot of fun shopping with the boys as they were very excited to be reaching this milestone, etc. (and I do not like shopping as you all know, so for me to say this, you must know we had a very good time). They humored me with ONE photo as they were trying on all the bits and pieces. Colin and Matt first met in first grade when I was teaching their CCD class at SEAS. Over the years, we have watched Colin grow up and the Andersons have watched Matt and Alex grow up. They all made their Confirmation together this past April, and this fall Matt and Colin are headed off to Guerin for high school. We had the shop to ourselves yesterday, so we had a lot of fun with the guys...almost like playing dolls, trying on different clothing options, etc. (If you tell them I said that, I will say you lied.) Anyway, they are now fully outfitted with the appropriate Guerin regalia. Alex's comment: "Matt you are going to look like such a prep every day." Alex is not the prep type. (He is going to Carmel for high school where there is no specific uniform.) Two days ago Colin had a bad accident with his bike and his entire right side is all scraped and looking really bad...you can see some of it in the photo, although he did pose with his "good side out." Yikes...these boys and their bikes this year! And to think, they are all coming up for Driver's Ed!
Monday we head out to the bookstore to pick up all the high school books and also we go backpack shopping...again with the Andersons. After that, I do believe, I will have reached my shopping saturation point until the obligatory Christmas season. Mark, bless his heart, always takes Alex shopping as that child is the WORST shopper in the world...he takes forever and then some because he has to look at absolutely everything before he decides on anything. Mark's patience is much longer lasting than mine in shopping matters. I don't remember needing this much stuff to start school. Ever!
