Photo: A rather slow week around here for photos, so I thought I would post this one of Matt and Trish, friends for many years, at Kiernan's family's lake house this summer, it's just such a good photo of them both.

Because I don't know very much about Dutch history, and because a lot
of this is full of extra information that I want to stop and explore
more, this one is going to take me awhile. I am having a very good time
with it, however. Shorto's writing is wonderful, the background of the
documents used for this is interesting in itself.
WEEK IN REVIEW: The
week was rather a bust as I had what we are calling the flu, I guess,
as it seems strange to have a flu in August, but it hung around for
three days. I read a lot and not much else as dizziness and nausea do
not lend themselves to a great deal of productivity.
